AI bathroom design from a photo of your bathroom

Room Stylist AI restyles a photo of your bathroom with new tiles, paint, vanity front, mirror and lighting. It keeps the bath, shower, toilet, basin, window and door where they are. A red trace of the original layout sits over every example so you can check the main lines held.

Before: long bathroom with a pine vanity, a tiled bath with sliding shower doors and a window above the basin.AI generated Japandi restyle of the same bathroom: white walls, pale oak door and vanity with a white top, pale stone floor and a paper wall light. Bath, shower doors, toilet and window stay in place.

Try it with your own photo

  1. Step 1 of 3

Add a photo of your bathroom

Shoot from the doorway with the 1x lens and the phone level. Bathrooms are small so the wide lens is tempting. It curves the tiles and the render then fails to keep the layout. Your photo stays on this device: nothing is uploaded yet.

What changes in a bathroom render, and what stays

Moving a toilet or a shower means moving waste pipes. That is where bathroom budgets go. So a bathroom render is only useful if those stay exactly where they are. In the examples on this page the walls, ceiling, window, door, bath or shower enclosure, toilet and basin positions are kept.

What changes:

  • Wall and floor tiles
  • Vanity unit front and tap finish
  • Mirror and lighting
  • Paint, towels, plants and accessories

The wide-angle problem

Our first bathroom photo was taken with a wide lens from the corner. The tiles bowed and the mirror reflected half the room. The walls leaned in. We ran it through Japandi, Scandinavian and modern farmhouse with three attempts each. The best layout scores were 79%, 68% and 72%. All three were below the 90% pass mark. The second bathroom was shot square on with a normal lens. It was run in Japandi, Scandinavian and industrial and all three passed at 99% within three attempts.

The lesson for your own photo: stand back as far as the room allows and use the normal lens. Accept that a small bathroom will not all fit in one frame. A render of two walls you can trust is worth more than a render of four walls that moved. The failed renders are shown on how it works.

Photo checklist for bathrooms

  1. Lights on and the extractor cover visible if you want it kept.
  2. Toilet lid down, towels off the floor, bottles off the bath edge.
  3. Do not stand in the mirror's reflection; step to one side.
  4. Hold the phone level with the 1x lens from the doorway.

Questions

Can I take a picture of my bathroom and have AI redesign it?

Yes. When rendering opens it takes one photo plus a style and the room type. It returns a render with new finishes while the sanitaryware, window and door stay put. It is a visual for deciding on a look and is not a plumbing plan.

Will the AI move my toilet or shower?

It is instructed not to. Every render is checked against a trace of the original photo. Bathroom renders here only appear if 90% or more of the traced layout still lines up.

Why did some bathroom renders fail?

One test bathroom was shot with a wide-angle lens. Its straight tile lines curved toward the edges of the frame. The model straightened them and reframed the room in all three styles and none passed the layout check. We recommend the standard lens for that reason.

What will a bathroom render cost?

Planned launch pricing is two free renders with no card then £0.99 per render. Rejected renders will neither use your free allowance nor be charged. Rendering opens after the waitlist.
